How Alabama's Food Banks Feed the Needy During a Crisis


As the number of coronavirus cases in Alabama and across the Gulf Coast continues to climb, medical professionals aren’t the only ones stepping up to address the crisis. So are local food banks.

“You don’t really think of the food bank as being the first responders, but we are on the front lines,” said Cyndy Baggett, vice president of development and marketing for Feeding the Gulf Coast. “As things are closing and people are quarantined, we’re still here. We’re going to be here working in the community, because this is when our job becomes the most important.”
